What's New for the 2017 Dodge Durango?

The 2017 Dodge Durango continues to have five trims: the entry-level SXT, the mid-level SXT Plus and Citadel, and the top-level R/T. However, in the center of all this, the Limited disappears onlyu to be replaced by the GT. This new offering takes the R/T and adds the more efficient engine from the SXT: the 3.6L Pentastar® V6 that generates up to 295 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque while getting up to 26 highway MPG in the rear-wheel drive or 25 highway MPG in the all-wheel drive with the standard eight-speed automatic transmission. Towing capacity reaches up to 6,200 pounds. This engine version also ditches the SXT chrome in favor of a monochromatic color scheme. The price of the GT goes up by $500 compared to the previous Limited. Also added are dual exhausts and 20-inch Hyper Black Aluminum Wheels, which compare to the 18-inch versions on the Limited. Two R/T option packages are available on the GT. The first is the Blacktop Package that comes with 20-inch Gloss Black Aluminum wheels, Gloss Black badges and exterior mirrors, and Gloss Black badging. The second is the Brass Monkey Appearance Package that includes 20-inch Burnished Bronze Aluminum wheels, Gloss Black badges and a monochrome paint job.

Available to the R/T trim is center armrest and dashboard that are wrapped in leather as well as roof racks in black. The price of this trim increases by $200. The Anodized Platinum Package returns to the Citadel trim for the rear-wheel drive V6. The package also comes to all-wheel-drive Citadel models with any engine. This option includes black and brown two-tone leather seats stitched in silver, a center armrest and dashboard that are covered with leather, and an interior accented by chrome trim in Platinum and Gunmetal. The price of the base Citadel increases by $200. All trims seat seven passengers across three rows except for the SXT, which accommodates five on two rows. The deleted row makes for an SXT that is $400 cheaper than last year. Standard on all trims and optional on the SXT is a rearview camera that shows clear color images on the 8.4 Uconnect® infotainment system when the vehicle is in motion. The picture gets guidelines to help you determine where your vehicle is reversing to and how far it is from obstacles near its path.
